Sports Illustrated’s Golf.com had us team up with Go To Team’s Nashville video camera crew, Peter Leininger, for a great shoot highlighting philanthropy, golf, and Rascal Flatts.
Rascal Flatts’ Celebrity Golf Classic
Country music trio Rascal Flatts hosted their second annual celebrity golf tournament and Sports Illustrated was there with one of our video camera crews. It was sponsored by William Morris Entertainment, Delta Dental of Tennessee, and Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse. The tournament was the benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt - a cause that is near and dear to the group. They have been performing for the children’s hospital patients for years and have helped to raise millions of dollars for research and training. The hospital even renamed its Pediatric Surgery Center to The Rascal Flatts Surgery Center. The tournament matches teams up with celebrities for a great day of golf.
Rascal Flatts’ Golf Goals
Sports Illustrated’s own Jessica Marksbury sat down with the trio for her “A Round With” interview series the morning of the tournament. They sipped on some cocktails and “mocktails” and talked golf. What is on their golf bucket list? For Jay DeMarcus it is to hit a hole in one. For Joe Don Rooney it is a sponsor exemption. And for Gary LeVox it is to have a solid game all the way through, and not have a bunch of good holes and bad mixed together. SI and AD have full faith they will achieve their golf goals.
Rascal Flatts’ at the Top of Their Game
Rascal Flatts first hit the scene in 1999/2000 with their first self-titled album. Now they are on to their tenth studio album titled “Back to Us.” You may know them for country music hits like “Bless the Broken Road,” “What Hurts the Most,” and their cover of “Life is a Highway.” They will be on tour this summer to promote their latest album and hit songs. We hope to hit the highway with them again soon!
