We’ve all heard of book clubs, but have you ever heard of a cookbook club? A group of foodies in Pittsburgh all gather around the table once a month with recipes from their cookbook of the month. When they chose one of Rachael Ray’s cookbooks, the show couldn’t resist crashing their cookbook club to join in on the fun and food.
Rachael Ray Cookbook Club
The Whitehall Public Library Cookbook Club has been getting together once a month for the last eight years. What started out as a group of five friends has now grown to a group of fifteen! Food brings them together, friendship keeps them there. The Rachael Ray Show wanted to get in on this tasty and terrific story when they chose Rachael’s “Everyone is Italian on Sunday” cookbook one month. From penne a la vodka to caesar stuffed deviled eggs, each person brought in a dish straight from the cookbook to share with everyone.
Behind the Scenes with Rachael Ray
Our video camera crew and producer were at the Whitehall Public Library in Pittsburgh to capture content for a segment of the show. We interviewed various members of the club, shot B-roll of the food and the feasting, took photos of each dish, and maybe snuck a taste or two.
Rachael Ray’s Cookbooks
Rachael Ray is known for her quick and easy approach to cooking, italian style and ingredients, no measuring technique, love of burgers, and coining of the term EVOO. She has written 27 cookbooks including favorites like “30 Minute Meals,” “$40 a Day: Best Eats in Town,” “Yum-O! The Family Cookbook,” and of course, “Everyone is Italian on Sunday.” She is currently working on her next book titled “50/50” to celebrate her 50th birthday. She will be giving a copy to each member of the cookbook club when it hits the shelves, holding a book signing at their library, and joining them for one of their club meetups. Talk about a tasty treat!
Great food, great conversation, great shoot. We always enjoy working with The Rachael Ray Show! Watch the full piece HERE.
