"Just today we were going around the room discussing dream clients and dream assignments. The Kentucky Derby came up and I immediately thought of E! That was just a Tuesday for us. We start by asking, 'What's cool?' E! is super cool. They're a small team that's been playing big for years," says Moffatt.
The Victoria's Secret show just happened, but E! discussed international crewing with us months ago in June. We sat down as they launched their new set and just after they merged digital with News and combined the departments. "We've seen lots of consolidation in broadcast, but E!'s transition inside and outside of the Comcast family was seamless. They approached it from a boots on the ground... bottom up strategy," said Moffatt.
E!'s production team uses both Assignment Desk and Go To Team for their storytelling needs. "International crewing is fun and challenging. It takes great partners and vendors to service great clients like E!" said Moffatt.
Our discussions for using Assignment Desk for international shoots centered around the thought that we can provide the right crew for them and they'd partner with us in that effort. We'd source multiple crews and present them to their producers, but they would make the final decision.
Funny though, I just checked in with our production coordinators and they said, "Oh yeah, they trust us. We find the right crews for them. We know what they want." That trust is paramount for any relationship, especially in business. E! a great partner and they take us on the coolest assignments.
