A freshman wrestler from Temperance, MI is inspiring other young people to take action. Hunter Gandee recently walked 57 miles with his younger brother, Braden on his back to raise awareness for Cerebal Palsy, and an Assignment Desk crew was there to capture their remarkable feat. And this wasn't Hunter's first summer carrying Braden. Last year, he walked 40 miles and raised enough money to build a handicap friendly playground at his little brother's school. This year, he was determined more than ever to try again for a longer distance. We were lucky enough to film the brothers' story for Sports Illustrated. For his tenacity and passion, Hunter was awarded with the Sports Illustrated High School Athlete of the Month award for June, presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. Covering this story was an honor for our crew - the Gandee brothers are a shining example love, support, and doing good for others.
