Assignment Desk recently shot another Game Changers episode. Game Changers is a CBS show that spotlights professional athletes who use their fame to create positive change for others. On this particular shoot, we featured approximately ten NFL players from the Arizona Cardinals including, Coach Bruce Arians, Patrick Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald, Calais Campbell and Tyrann Mathieu.
At first, our interview with quarterback, Patrick Peterson was in a less than ideal area. The background of the shot wasn't as aesthetically pleasing as we would have hoped it to be. Luckily, Peterson's publicist saved the day. She managed to secure an area specifically for our crew, and then kicked everyone else out. The Assignment Desk team managed to get the first sound bite in a record 28 minutes.
The Cardinals set up at Donovan's in Phoenix for a silent auction and charity dinner. In fact, the event was completely overbooked. Every seat in the house was taken. Luckily, our crew ended up with great footage of the team's generous spirit.. Even NFL Network asked to use our footage (we see you!).
We shot the interviews with a Canon C300 and Canon 70-200 2.8 II. In order to get a high quality picture, we used the Tokina 11-20 2.8, Rokinon 35mm 1.4 and Rokinon 85 mm 1.4 lenses. For audio, we used Sound Devices 664 and Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless Hop. Our crew even used a drone, the DJI Phantom 3.
Filming for Game Changers is always an incredible experience. Not only do we get to shoot athletic stars, but we get learn about how they make a positive influence in their communities. We can't wait until our crew has the chance to partner with Game Changers again.
